 Enchanted Fish Enchanted fish is German folklore collected by The Grimm brother in 1812, about dissatisfaction and greed. The Contents of the Story There once was a fisherman who lived with his wife in a small hut close by the seaside. The fisherman used to go fishing every day. One day, as he sat in his boat with his rod, looking at the sparkling waves and watching his line, all of a sudden his float was dragged away deep into the water. He quickly started to reel in his line and managed to pull out a huge fish. "Wow! This will feed us for days." Much to his surprise, the fish started to talk and said, "Pray, let me live! I am not a real fish; I am an enchanted prince. Put me in the water again, and let me go! Have mercy o' kind fisherman." The astonished fisherman quickly threw him back, exclaiming, "I don't want to hurt a talking fish! Go on! Go where you came from."  Figure of speech Definition Figure of speech is a form of expression (such as a simile or metaphor) used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation familiar to the reader or listener. figurative expression commonly used in both written and spoken literacy. It's commonly used in song, poem, prose ,etc.  The function of the figure of speech itself is to replace several sentences to make them more beautiful and interesting. In figure of speech and figure of speech , sentences that are written sometimes do not contain a literal meaning but are only as expressions.  Explanation Text Definition An explanation text tells your audience how something works or why something happens. Explanations detail and logically describe the stages in a process, such as the water cycle, or how a steam engine works. Other examples could be how a law is made, or why we blink when we sneeze. There are three types of explanations. Sequential – These detail the stages in an event eg: how a caterpillar turns into a moth. Causal - Details what causes the change from one stage to the next ie: How a president is elected. Theoretical - Details the possible phenomena behind a natural or created process that is not fully understood. eg What caused the Nazi's to lose World War II. Factorial and consequential explanations explain the effects and outcomes of processes.
